PHOENIX BUILDING

A multi-tenants building, in planning stage in Tokyo, consists of eight leasable spaces, an office and residence of the building owner. The design of the leasable spaces is conceived by separating the space into the upper and lower layers where the upper allows unobstructed visual connection and the lower facilitates efficient circulation flow with organized storage and facilities arrangement. The location of window opening reflects this upper/lower composition of the interior space, which disfigures an archetypal understanding of floor relationship on building facade, thereby strengthens a sense of privacy.
