東京、渋谷に計画された、路面店の内外装である。ＥＵから新品、アンティーク等の商品を買い付けてくるため、内装のイメージは中世ヨーロッパのデザインをアレンジすることを話し合った。そこで、モチーフとして伝統的である唐草模様を選び、現代の技術で再表現することを決めた。

方法としては、連続的に変化した唐草模様にカットされた3ｍｍ合板を重ね合わせ、徐々に色も変化させながら、ドアのフレーム、テーブルを制作した。そうして出来上がったイメージは、本来、模様が持っている対称性を守りながらも躍動感ある変化が加えられ、現代的な印象を獲得できた。

 

This shop interior/exterior, located in Shibuya, Tokyo, was designed for an owner whose business juxtaposes contemporary products with European antiques, a pairing that naturally inspired a modern reinterpretation of traditional Western design motifs. The doorframe and tables each were created by cutting and laminating together 3mm thick Veneer boards in progressively different colors and curvatures in an organic pattern reminiscent of medieval furniture. The resulting pieces have both the symmetry and depth of traditional construction and an edginess and simplicity that is distinctly modern. 

这个是东京涉谷的沿街商店的内外装修项目。为了采购来自EU的新货、古董等商品、内装修讨论决定采用中欧世纪的设计。在这里我们选择了代表设计主题的传统蔓藤式花纹、并用现代技术进行再现。方法上、在连续变化的蔓藤式花纹上切下的3mm厚的复合板、然后把复合板重叠起来、是颜色也慢慢发生变化、来制作门的框架和桌子。由此完成的效果就是、在保护花纹所拥有的对称性的同时、加入有跳跃感的变化、使其获得一个现代化的印象。
